Not printing / Freezing

#1

I have successfully done the ring test print and two other models I downloaded from the Internet. I have recently updated to firmware v1.18 and I’m using Cura 3.4.1 for slicing running on Windows 10. When I select the gcode and start the print nothing happens… no Z movement or laser activity. The timer on the Moai starts and it says current layer 1 but nothing happens…
Settings as follows:
X Size 900
Y SIze 900
X deviation 100
Y Deviation 100
Smooth 50
Zmotot speed 2
PM Moto Speed 15
Laser power 58
XY Speed test 4
Z reset position 1870
PM reset position 40
Z follows 10
Compensate X 100
Compensate Y 195
Z initial Speed 2
PM Initial Speed 15

Where did you place the gcode in the SD card?

It’s not in a folder, directly in the root directory.

This can happen when the gcode has no windows line endings (\n instead of \r\n). Is this the first print you sliced yourself on cura 3.4.1?
Check the gcode file if it has windows line endings.

Make a folder named gcode in root directory on SD card. Place all gcode files in that folder.

still use the gcode directory despite what v1.18 says. Also try to re-format the SDcard with the proper tools

Thanks! It’s printing now after I saved the gcode in a “gcode” folder.

Yea… i’ve noticed that despite the fact that 1.18 should be able to properly read gcode on the root of the SD, it doesnt.

You still need to put the gcode on a folder to be able to print.
