How to slow down print speed in Asura

Would like to know how I can slow down print speed in Asura? I’m testing a new wax resin, and started using Asura, so without a slower print speed all my prints are failures. I’ve been using Cura where I have the ability to slow down print speed.

Unfortunately you can’t change the print speed in Asura, it’s only set to slow down print speed in the initial 30 layers

BUMMER! Will have to use Cura most of the time then.

hi Bobby,

Below is advance tip, for any beginners reading this, do not try. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

Asura uses the Cura_engine for slicing, it takes the profiles in the /profile/ directory.

You can edit the profile in notepad++

All the Cura settings are present in these profiles. In here you can adjust everything and experiment.

Bare in mind not all the commands are applicable to the moai, but the general stuff like print speed etc can be tweaked.

If you are generating supports in Asura 2.2.4, then it will automatically mark the supports for slower print speed to over cure it. ( only Asura Supports and not STL Supports )

I Highly suggest making backup copies of your profiles before editing.

you just have to manually make new profile. it is actually just one parameter

take Moai 130 100um.afg in profile directory for example
speed=0
speed_equalize_flow_enabled=False
speed_equalize_flow_max=150
speed_infill=85
speed_ironing=56.666666666666664
speed_layer_0=5
speed_prime_tower=85
speed_print=85
speed_print_layer_0=5
speed_roofing=85
speed_slowdown_layers=2
speed_support=85
speed_support_bottom=56.666666666666664
speed_support_infill=70
speed_support_interface=56.666666666666664
speed_support_roof=56.666666666666664
speed_topbottom=85
speed_travel=120
speed_travel_layer_0=100
speed_wall=85
speed_wall_0=85
speed_wall_x=85the speed for 100um is 85.
so if you want to slow down, just mod everything that is 85 in the above text and save to another name in the same directory
