Bicubic Calibration Method. Is it worth the effort?

My sister in law showed up with this MOAI 200. I’ve printed a few items on it and it works well after some calibration. I see many messages indicating this printer is not accurate for parts that you assemble. I wanted to use it to make heat resistant parts for my other filament based printers but dimensional accuracy wold be required for that.

Has anyone considered or worked on a method where you print a calibration structure to measure edge position across the X and Y direction. Then use a matrix of these measurements in a gcode utility to adjust the X and Y coordinates using a bicubic fitting method? I would just create a new gcode file using this utility right before I send it to the printer.

Does this printer vary too much between prints that this is not worth developing?
